An Image of.......

A rather fetching teddy bear, neatly attired in blue fur. Obviously an image of the final prophet of God. Of course it is a totally ridiculous notion. Nearly as ridiculous as the concept of the final prophet himself, religion, God or indeed arresting, imprisoning and threatening a school teacher with flogging for allowing 8 year old school children to call their classroom teddy Mohammed; accusing her of blasphemy and inciting religious hatred. What a joke! If it weren’t a fact, one would think it wasn’t possible to be that stupid. But yet again, Muslims manage to conjure up an act of unbelievable idiocy. The sheer backward, dim-witted, brainless and unquestioning ignorance of the followers of this utterly pathetic religion is, quite simply, staggering. They are the epitome of why, in the long run, the human race is, hopefully, doomed.

To think that that poor woman was in Sudan to educate Sudanese children, to try to build a better future for the Sudanese state, only to be repaid with imprisonment and the threat of being flogged. It is just staggering! But it seems that everything in connection with that country brings bewilderment. None more so than the fact that the Sudanese state gets millions of dollars in aid from western tax-payers just so they can commit institutionalised genocide of their own people and fellow Muslims. It’s as big a joke as the predicament Ms Gibbons finds herself in.

The British government for once should show some backbone and warn the rabble that run that failed and worthless wasteland that there will be serious consequences should Ms Gibbons not be released immediately. We should not allow a weak and wretched nation like Sudan to indulge in an attempt at humiliation of a major western power. Iran did it earlier this year when they illegally captured sailors of the Royal Navy. It must not happen again!

Ending the Zionist State

The Times website has published 30 quotes by President Ahmadinejad of Iran. And this is a guy who could soon have his finger on the ‘nuclear button’. What a prospect!

1. "Israel must be wiped off the map … The establishment of a Zionist regime was a move by the world oppressor against the Islamic world . . . The skirmishes in the occupied land are part of the war of destiny. The outcome of hundreds of years of war will be defined in Palestinian land."
26 October 2005
(In an address to 4,000 students at a program titled, 'The World Without Zionism')
NB The translation of this quote is debated and has also been read as "Israel must disappear from the page of history"

2. "The Zionist regime is an injustice and by its very nature a permanent threat. Whether you like it or not, the Zionist regime is heading toward annihilation. The Zionist regime is a rotten, dried tree that will be eliminated by one storm."
14 April 2006 (In a speech at the opening of the "Support for the Palestinian Intifada" conference on 14-16 April hosted in Tehran)

3. "Today, they [Europeans] have created a myth in the name of Holocaust and consider it to be above God, religion and the prophets … This is our proposal: give a part of your own land in Europe, the United States, Canada or Alaska to them [Jews] so that the Jews can establish their country."
14 December 2005 (Speaking to thousands of people in the Iranian city of Zahedan)

4. "The Zionist regime is the flag bearer of violation and occupation and this regime is the flag of Satan. …It is not unlikely that this regime be on the path to dissolution and deterioration when the philosophy behind its creation and survival is invalid."
August 18, 2007 (Address to an international religious conference in Tehran)

5. "A new Middle East will prevail without the existence of Israel."
4 August 2006 (as quoted by Malaysian news agency Bernama website)

6. "In parallel to the official political war there is a hidden war going on and the Islamic states should benefit from their economic potential to cut off the hands of the enemies."

7. "Some European countries insist on saying that Hitler killed millions of innocent Jews in furnaces.... Although we don't accept this claim, if we suppose it is true, our question for the Europeans is: Is the killing of innocent Jewish people by Hitler the reason for their support to the occupiers of Jerusalem? If the Europeans are honest they should give some of their provinces in Europe -- like in Germany, Austria or other countries -- to the Zionists and the Zionists can establish their state in Europe."
8 December 2005 (While speaking to journalists at an Islamic summit in Mecca)

8. "The Zionists are the true manifestation of Satan . . . Many Western governments that claim to be pioneers of democracy and standard bearers of human rights close their eyes over crimes committed by the Zionists and by remaining silent support the Zionists due to their hedonistic and materialistic tendencies."
28 February 2007 (to a meeting of Sudanese Islamic scholars in Khartoum)

9. "Thanks to people's wishes and God's will the trend for the existence of the Zionist regime is downwards and this is what God has promised and what all nations want…Just as the Soviet Union was wiped out and today does not exist, so will the Zionist regime soon be wiped out"
12 December 2006 (Comments to Iran's Holocaust Conference)

10. "Though the enemy had made preparations for not allowing Iran (president) to make his voice heard, but, they could not succeed and thanks to grace of God the world people heard our voice."
30 September 2007

11. "Zionists are people without any religion. They are lying about being Jewish because religion means brotherhood, friendship and respecting other divine religions…They are an organized minority who have infiltrated the world. They are not even a 10,000-strong organization."
28 August 2007 (At a news conference in Tehran)

12. "With God's help, the countdown button for the destruction of the Zionist regime has been pushed by the hands of the children of Lebanon and Palestine . . . By God's will, we will witness the destruction of this regime in the near future."
3 June 2007(Speech, as quoted by the Fars News Agency)

13. "Although the main solution is for the elimination of the Zionist regime, at this stage an immediate cease-fire must be implemented."
2 August 2006 (as quoted by Iranian TV)

14. "[N]o Muslim nation would put up with this entity [i.e. Israel] in Islamic lands, not for one moment … If it's true that the [Europeans] committed a big crime in World War II, then they must take responsibility for it themselves, and not ask the Palestinian people to pay the price … Those countries that support this regime [Israel] were terrified at the suggestion that [Israel] should be relocated to their neighbourhood. So why should the Palestinians and the countries in our region accept this entity?"
(In a speech before an audience in the Iranian city of Qom, aired on television)

15. "They [the United States] think they are the absolute rulers of the world."
29 October 2005 (Marching in a demonstration alongside a crowd of students in Tehran)

16. "It is not just for a few states to sit and veto global approvals. Should such a privilege continue to exist, the Muslim world with a population of nearly 1.5 billion should be extended the same privilege."
19 June 2005 (In an interview with state television shortly before his election)

17. "Iran's enemies know your courage, faith and commitment to Islam and the land of Iran has created a powerful army that can powerfully defend the political borders and the integrity of the Iranian nation and cut off the hand of any aggressor and place the sign of disgrace on their forehead."

18. "Soon Islam will become the dominating force in the world, occupying first place in the number of followers amongst all other religions."

19."What is important is that they have shown the way to martyrdom which we must follow.''
[President Ahmadinejad's comments on an aircraft crash in Tehran that killed 108 people in December 2005].

20. "Is there a craft more beautiful, more sublime, more divine, than the craft of giving yourself to martyrdom and becoming holy? Do not doubt, Allah will prevail, and Islam will conquer mountain tops of the entire world."

21. "Our revolution's main mission is to pave the way for the reappearance of the Twelfth Imam, the Mahdi."

27. "The UN structure is one-sided, stacked against the world of Islam."June 8, 2005

Maybe the only state that should be “wiped off the map” is the Islamic Republic.

The ‘H’ Blocks and Martin McGuinness

Northern Ireland is a place I have always tried to steer clear of. Its sectarian history and violence was appalling. Neither community, on both sides of the sectarian divide, gained anything from the long years of the troubles. Both appeared set in another era, fighting over alien, nonsensical religious and nationalist beliefs, which people outside their tumult could hardly begin or desire to understand. The peace was welcome and surprising and came after many years of hard bargaining. The politicians finally came to the realisation that continuance of ‘the troubles’ was simply a waste of time, resources and lives. The future prosperity of both communities depended on both sides working together and sharing power.
The infamous ‘H’ blocks of the Maze prison became the icon symbol of ‘the troubles’. Here, terrorists and murderers from both sides were imprisoned. The prison is now, thankfully, long since closed with all the prisoners released as part of the peace settlement. It now appears that the site is earmarked to become a 35000-seat sports stadium. Part of the site is also to become some sort of visitor centre commemorating ‘the troubles’. The Unionist side are apparently in uproar, arguing that it will be a shrine to terrorism. The Deputy First Minister, none other than Martin McGuinness said he was "not arguing for any kind of shrine.” He added, “If we want a conflict transformation centre then it has to concentrate on how we resolve conflict”.

So, this new centre will be for the study of conflict? If this is indeed its purpose, Martin McGuinness is absolutely correct to call for it. A 'conflict transformation centre' could be a hub for education and reconciliation. McGuinness displays a maturity, integrity and intelligence few would have thought possible and he should be commended for his attempts at unification and compromise.

So that annual festival of racism, celebrating black music and culture has occurred again. In keeping with its politically correct ethos it was also broadcast live on BBC television. It had its usual quota of hip hop ‘gangsta’ stars, I use the term ‘stars’ very loosely, and women using sex to advertise themselves and their hopeless music. In fact everything that is wrong with British popular culture and society was encapsulated by this offensive affair.

It is simply unbelievable how a major music awards show like this can blatantly revel in the triumphalism and discrimination of its name and cultural basis. But because the word ‘black’ is used in its title and black culture is rewarded, everything is acceptable. What would the world say of music awards called ‘Music of White Origin’? Offensive and racist!

Losing It

The Commission for Racial Equality reports that racism; segregation and extremism are all on the rise and could threaten the foundations of the state. Cambridgeshire Police say that they do not have the resources to combat the rise in crime reported as a result of massive immigration. The BBC reports that 1000 people per week are trying to enter the UK through the French port of Cherbourg. The Liberal Democrat Party votes at conference to allow an amnesty for over half a million illegal immigrants. The EU agrees to ease visa requirements with Balkan countries making it easier for their citizens to enter Europe. One can guess where they will go.

The Last Straw

I never thought I would see the day that a Labour Prime Minister (a Labour Prime Minister!!), would welcome Margaret Thatcher to 10 Downing Street. The woman who did more than anyone else to destroy the labour movement and the working classes. The woman who wrecked the industrial manufacturing base of the country, created a service economy dependent on foreign imports, smashed the unions, wasted huge North Sea oil revenues to maintain millions of unemployed, sold off state assets into the ownership of foreign powers, renounced the concept of society, created a social underclass the like of which not seen since the Victorian era, destroyed the regions and ran economics and political policies which favoured her south east power base. The list of her economic failures and vindictive assaults on working people is endless.

The misery she wrought was total and it is an insult to the memory of the people whose sweat and toil built both the country and Labour movement, notwithstanding the present party membership and support. I am not bothered that the Prime Minister is playing politics designed to embarrass and undermine Tory support. It is enough that the Labour government has maintained and developed Tory policies but to hob-nob with the woman who tried to break the Labour Party itself is simply too much to tolerate. This is, I am afraid, the straw that broke the camel’s back!

9/11 Undiminished

I have read, with increasing frequency, many blogs comparing dictatorial mass murderers: debating who was worse in terms of how many they murdered. These comparisons are completely fatuous. Evaluating leaders and regimes that used death, as a political instrument into some sort of murderous league table is quite incomprehensible. Planned, indiscriminate mass murder is the same whether it is in the industrialised death camps of Nazi occupied Poland; as part of Mao’s cultural revolution; during the deliberate starvation reaped on his people by Stalin or during the communal slaughter in Rwanda. This list is by no means exhaustive but such atrocities, like all acts of mass murder, have many common threads running through them. Perhaps the principal ‘driver’ of all these maniacal acts is that the perpetrators considered their victims to be almost sub-human and not worthy of life.

The grotesque Islamist barbarism of 9/11, demonstrated this complete disregard for human life. The nineteen terrorists, who carried out the attacks on that fateful day, and their considerable support network, cared not about the horror and torment they were to inflict on the victims and their families. Six years on, the shock and horror of the attacks has now faded slowly into memory and familiarity. Seeing those planes hit the twin towers over and over has dulled the senses to what was an unbelievably senseless and vile act; to such a point where many now ‘down-play’ the importance of that day. This is quite wrong. The significance of 9/11 should remain undiminished. The day was a disaster in every sense. Like 4 August 1914 or 6 August 1945 it was a day the world changed, for the world has not been the same since. It signalled the contempt the Islamic world has for Western values and freedoms and alerted the world to the danger and intolerance of radical Islam, the threat of which should be compared to the rise of Nazism in the 1930s. 9/11 was the spark, which began home grown Muslim radicalism and became a siren-call for worldwide Islamic militancy. It forced the realisation that the west has an enemy within who despise their fellow citizens and their beliefs. It made the US lash out, at great cost in life and treasure, like a blindfolded man swinging wildly at an unseen opponent. The subsequent invasion of Iraq certainly fuelled radicalism but Muslim agitation and near excitement to fight the West emerged from 9/11. Its lingering effect would ultimately cause cracks to appear in the western alliance and further deepen the animosity between the West and Islam. 9/11 brought Islamic terror to the West in a way never seen before and has become a portent of the possibility of even worse to come. It made Islamists think that any and all means are feasible, as long as the casualties are maximised. It brought the concept of God, which was beginning to slip from public consciousness; back to the forefront of popular perception. Finally it highlighted the vulnerability of western energy supplies, diversification to which would finance a re-emergent Russian militarism.

This aftermath of 9/11 is not definitive and further more devastating events will no doubt unfurl. The legacy of 9/11 should not be under estimated. It was a pivotal day in modern history. But possibly the greatest consequence of 9/11, Islamic terror and the chaos it ignited is that it has needlessly diverted the world’s attention and resources from immediate and potentially catastrophic problems that threaten the future of the planet.
